Project Objective
The Canadian labour market, supported by the transformation of rural SMEs, is evolving, and the range of skills workers need to succeed in a global and digital economy has expanded. These skills are now incorporated into the new ESDC (Employment and Social Development Canada) Skills for Success model.CBDC Restigouche, in collaboration with different partners, has developed the Skills in Action online training portal to solve these labour and skills issues in both official languages. This project aims to adapt the Skills in Action training portal to this sustainable workplace training solution using the Skills for Success model.
About the Project
Skills in Action is an online portal comprised of a suite of Skills for Success training programs designed to enhance the skill sets of Canadian workers based on the Skills for Success model. The portal includes a suite of online training management tools to plan, deliver and manage the training programs. The training tools will be developed in two versions, some of which will comply with accessibility standards for people with disabilities.Expected Outcomes
- Access to Skills for Success training tools is increased for the Canadian rural community.
- Increased awareness of SMEs and training providers to integrate the Skills for Success into HR practices.
- Participants improved their fundamental and transferable skills in reading, numeracy, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and creativity and innovation.
