About the project
Project ObjectiveThe Canadian labour market, supported by the transformation of rural SMEs, is evolving, and the range of skills workers need to succeed in a global and digital economy has expanded. These skills are now incorporated into the new ESDC (Employment and Social Development Canada) Skills for Success model.
CBDC Restigouche, in collaboration with different partners, has developed the Skills in Action online training portal to solve these labour and skills issues in both official languages. This project aims to adapt the Skills in Action training portal to this sustainable workplace training solution using the Skills for Success model.
About the ProjectSkills in Action is an online portal comprised of a suite of Skills for Success trainings designed to enhance the skill sets of Canadian workers based on the Skills for Success model. The portal includes a suite of online training management tools to plan, deliver and manage the trainings. The training tools will be developed in two versions, some of which will comply with accessibility standards for people with disabilities.
- Access to Skills for Success training tools is increased for the Canadian rural community.
- Increased awareness of SMEs and training providers to integrate the Skills for Success into HR practices.
- Participants improved their fundamental and transferable skills in reading, numeracy, digital skills, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and innovation.
